Softminal Cache works out of the box. Install it, and your pages are cached with safe settings straight away. Every feature is free.
1. Install
- In your dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New.
- Search for “Softminal Cache”.
- Click Install, then Activate.
If another caching plugin is active, please deactivate it first. Two page caches on one site will fight with each other.
2. Check the page cache
Open Softminal Cache from the admin menu. On the Dashboard, click Test cache. It loads your homepage twice as a visitor. You should see “1st visit · MISS”, then “2nd visit · HIT” and how many times faster the second visit was.
3. Run the speed audit
Click Run audit on the Dashboard. You get a score out of 100 and a list of Recommended fixes. Each fix has a Fix button. Fixes marked “Safe” are low risk.
4. Pick a profile (optional)
New sites start on the Safe profile. When you want more speed, try Balanced. See Choose a profile.
If anything ever looks wrong, click Undo in the top bar, or turn on Safe Mode.
