Preload builds pages in the background, so even the first visitor gets a cached copy. Find it on the Cache tab, in the Preload card.
Preload after clearing the cache
When the cache is cleared, the pages you updated are rebuilt first, then the rest of the site. It is on for new installs.
Where the page list comes from
Softminal Cache reads your sitemap. It checks /sitemap_index.xml (Yoast, Rank Math), /sitemap.xml (All in One SEO and others) and /wp-sitemap.xml (WordPress). Without a sitemap, it follows the links on your homepage. Up to 2,000 pages are preloaded.
Speed
| Option | Speed |
|---|---|
| Automatic (default) | Picks Gentle or Normal from your hosting limits. |
| Gentle | 1 page every 3 seconds |
| Normal | 1 page every second |
| Fast | 4 pages every second |
Automatic chooses Gentle when PHP may run for 30 seconds or less, memory is below 96 MB, or pages take more than 1.5 seconds to build. Preload always builds one page at a time, so your server is never overloaded.
Use Preload now to start, and Pause or Resume any time. Preload runs through WP-Cron and while the plugin screen is open.
