Fonts: local Google Fonts

Fonts decide how soon the text on your page appears. Find these on Optimize, then Fonts.

Host Google Fonts on your site (local fonts)

Softminal Cache downloads the Google Fonts your theme already uses, once, in the background. From then on they are served from your site, and your visitors no longer connect to Google. This is faster and better for privacy.

If the download fails, it tries again after an hour. Until it is ready, fonts keep loading from Google as before.

Show text while fonts load (font-display: swap)

Text appears at once in a fallback font, then switches to your font when it is ready. No more blank text while the page loads.

Load the main fonts first (preload)

Tells the browser to fetch up to 3 main fonts early. It only works for fonts hosted on your site.
